One of the biggest issues for a forum like this is keeping the forum active.
The best way to do this is to keep our existing members and encourage new ones.
Since revamping the forum, we've done a lot of work to make sure it's well advertised and that people are reminded to come back or encouraged to join.
We have a brand new Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Yummy-Mummy-Forum/113795618652348?v=wall&ref=sgm
We have a brand new Twitter account at http://twitter.com/YummyMummyForum
Not only that, but using the power of technology, all entries posted on the main Admin Noticeboard are automatically posted to the Portal (which can be seen by Guests) and to the Twitter page. All posts by the Yummy Mummy Facebook page are also automatically copied to Twitter.
We're trying to post regularly on both Facebook and Twitter about what's being discussed on the forum. And when our members follow us on these platforms our messages reach their friends as well.
On top of all this, we're regularly emailing members who've joined but not posted or not posted for a while.
All of this is hopefully encouraging new members to give us a try or those who haven't been around to come back and see what they're missing.
The next plans in the pipeline are for getting our forum linked to from other sites and we've also been looking into how to increase our profile in Google searches (although this is proving tricky!!).
Do let us know if you think we're bombarding you too much Advertising Icon_biggrin or if you have any additional advertising ideas.
