The Yumminess Factor!
We have a new experimental feature on the site called Yumminess.
This is an indication of how useful a particular member's posts are found to be by other members of the forum. It will be displayed as a user's Yumminess Factor in their profile and beneath their username on each post.
Yumminess starts at zero today for everyone and will build up dependent on the actions of other members.
There are two ways that you can influence the Yumminess Factor of another member.
1. Vote for a post by that member. Next to every post you will now see a small + and - over to the right hand side. This allows you to give a negative or positive vote for that individual post.
Any one user can only vote for up to ten posts in any day, so use your votes wisely. Note also that votes won't count until you reach at least Junior Mummy rank (10 posts) and have at least one vote for one of your posts. So only members who are themselves contributing positively to the forum will be able to influence the Yumminess Factor of others.
NB. Negative votes could result in someone having negative Yumminess, so please reserve that for posts that really offend you!!! This may be useful if we have any unwanted trolls appear on the site....
2. Thank someone for their reply. When you start a new thread, you will now see a Thanks button on each reply to that thread. For each thread you can cast a vote of Thanks for just ONE post that you receive in reply. So click Thanks if you've found a particular reply useful.
We'll see how this feature goes and review in a couple of weeks

I think it's a good idea too, can you override it as admin in the event of someone clicking the wrong one, as it's bound to happen and I'll probably be the first to do it lol

I don't think we can override it at the moment, but it's been requested by a lot of people on the forum support site, so it may become possible at some point!!
Re: The Yumminess Factor!
That's good, I bet it has already happened on other forums then lol

Re: The Yumminess Factor!
With the plus/minuses, if you make a mistake you could ask someone to vote the opposite way as that would cancel it out!!!
Nothing you can do with the thankyous though as far as I can see - I thanked a post in my blog to try it out and I can't see any way to change it now.... not that I want to LOL
Which reminds me - the thanked post comes up a different colour so everyone can see which reply the original poster found most useful....
